Positively Florida Theater Company is a Live Theater group featuring innovative and inspiring plays that celebrate the resilience and courage of the human spirit. Spencer E Meehl is Managing Director; Kim Crayne is Artistic Designer; Judi Svolto, Jennifer Kinsey, and Gary Broughman are board members. Past productions include God’s Favorite by Neil Simon in 2015, and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis in 2016, the brand new musical play Slinky the Musical In January of 2017, A Permanent Image by Samuel D Hunter in June of 2017, Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile in September 2017, Summerland by Arlitia Jones in March 2018, and Lucas Hnath's the Christians in June 2018. Venues include the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Museum of Arts and Sciences Root Auditorium, and the News Journal Center's Gillespy Theater.
Positively Florida Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses the arts, especially the performing arts, to feed and encourage the creative spirit. Gary Broughman is president. In addition to live theater, our programs include sponsoring and hosting classes and events: The Artist’s Way: Julia Cameron’s renowned 12-week program subtitled A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity. Spirit Café: A periodic coffee house with live music and other entertainment where patrons can lift a glass and find inspiration in a supportive atmosphere. History: Positively Florida was created more than 10 years ago by Daytona Beach resident Gary Broughman (pictured above), a writer, book editor and publisher, actor, and theater producer.
